ResetPing Privacy Policy
Version: 1.0.2 · Effective date: 2026-10-02
1. About this policy
ResetPing is operated by HUI LI, based in the United States, who is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@reset-ping.com.
This policy explains how our legal webpages at reset-ping.com, iOS app, Mac app and coordination service handle information. Accepting our Terms of Service is separate from authorizing optional features or consenting to a particular use of personal data.
2. What we collect and why
| Information | How we use it |
|---|---|
| Your email address and login information | Send verification codes, create and authenticate your ResetPing identity, and protect access. |
| Connected devices and accounts | Associate your Mac and iPhone with your identity. This includes device names and identifiers, connection status, your connected Codex account email and account-type information. |
| Quota and activity summaries | Display usage and reset times, coordinate manual and enabled automatic Pings, show results, and prevent duplicate execution. We also store your account names, execution preferences, relevant times and limited error information. |
| Notification information | Use Apple's push token, notification preferences and delivery records to send permitted notifications. |
| Subscription information | Verify Apple purchases, apply account allowances and handle subscription changes and restoration. We receive transaction identifiers and subscription status, not your payment-card number. |
| Network and security information | Process connection information, including IP addresses, and limited diagnostic and authentication records to operate and protect the service. |
| Support messages | Respond to information and requests you send to our support address. |
You need an email address to use an authenticated ResetPing identity. Connecting a Mac and a compatible third-party account requires the related device and account information. If you do not provide information needed for a feature, that feature cannot operate.
When you scan a pairing QR code, the iPhone processes the camera input locally. This flow uses the recognized code and does not save or upload camera images. You can enter the pairing code manually instead.
Our legal webpages are hosted by Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare processes connection information, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time, to deliver and protect the pages. We do not add advertising trackers or analytics scripts to these pages, or use them to create a ResetPing identity. We do not maintain a separate visitor database; Cloudflare may retain operational and security records under its applicable service policies.
3. Your Mac and ChatGPT/Codex credentials
Your Mac stores ResetPing's reusable ChatGPT/Codex login credentials and directly reads quota and executes Pings. These credentials are not uploaded to our coordination service. Temporary third-party login codes and verification links may pass through the service to help you authorize a connection.
The coordination service receives the account and quota summaries needed to synchronize devices and manage tasks. Local execution therefore does not mean that all information stays on your Mac.
A Ping sends a short fixed request from your Mac to OpenAI through your authorized Codex connection. We receive a result summary, not a copy of your private conversations or source-code projects. OpenAI processes the direct requests under its own privacy policy and your applicable account settings. ResetPing's local settings do not control OpenAI's retention or training practices.
4. Service providers and public announcements
We use the following services for the stated purposes:
| Provider | Information and purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the legal webpages and coordination service, processing webpage connection information and identity, device, quota-summary, task, security and subscription information. |
| Resend | Receives your email address and verification-message content to deliver login codes. It also sends service-health emails to the operator. |
| Apple | Processes purchases and transaction verification, and receives push tokens and notification content for APNs delivery. |
| OpenAI | Receives the login, quota-read and Ping requests made directly by your Mac through your authorized connection. |
| X and TypeSafe | X supplies public posts. TypeSafe's Jev model, accessed through Cloudflare AI Gateway, classifies public posts and their context to identify reset signals. |
| Zoho Mail | Hosts our support mailbox and processes your email address, message content and attachments when you contact us. |
For public announcements, we collect posts by Tibo at @thsottiaux on X and relevant public replies, quotes and context, including text, author and post identifiers, links and timestamps. Public posts may contain personal information. We do not send your ResetPing email, personal quota, reusable credentials or private conversations to Jev. Affected authors and other individuals can contact us even if they do not use ResetPing. Original-post cards may load the author’s public profile image from X’s image servers; X can receive connection information such as your IP address when this image loads. Opening an original-post link takes you to X, where X’s policies apply. We do not load X’s embedded timeline or advertising scripts.
Notifications may include your account display name, which can be your connected-account email. Adjust notification previews if you do not want that information visible on a locked device.
We do not sell your personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect against abuse or security threats, or establish or defend legal claims. Providers may also have independent obligations for information they process through their own services.
5. How long information is kept
Retention depends on the information and its purpose:
- Identity, connections and preferences: kept for your use of the service, until changed or removed through the relevant controls. Inactivity alone does not delete an identity. New quota reads replace the previous displayed snapshot.
- Login and pairing information: verification and pairing codes are valid for 10 minutes, while normal ResetPing sessions are valid for 30 days. Expiry prevents further use but does not mean immediate erasure of every related record. Expired records are removed through routine cleanup; pairing records are cleared when a later pairing is started.
- Activity and notifications: personal execution events and notification-delivery records are normally eligible for cleanup after 30 days. Related completed task records may remain longer until their cleanup conditions are met. Removing a connection deletes its personal event history. Outages can delay cleanup.
- Public announcements: public source posts, their context, classification results, links between posts and reset events, and announcement history are retained long term to support historical reference and verification, without automatic deletion after 30 days. This does not extend a reset observation window. Personal observations used to summarize reset progress remain eligible for cleanup after 30 days. Announcement copies associated with an identity may remain until that identity is deleted.
- Local data: your iPhone refreshes its display cache and clears it when you sign out or change identity. Mac credentials remain until their dedicated cleanup completes. Limited local task identifiers and system-managed logs may remain afterward. Uninstalling does not reliably clear Keychain items, support files or backups.
- Security and pending cleanup: limited records of revoked authorization, deletion and cleanup may remain after ordinary account data is removed, to support offline cleanup and prevent old authorization from restoring access. These records do not grant ordinary access and have no single automatic expiry. You can contact us to request review or deletion, subject to applicable law.
After identity deletion, we retain limited subscription-verification and recovery information until 90 days after Apple's verified subscription expiry. If Apple verification remains unavailable, this can extend to 120 days after the last verified expiry. A confirmed renewal can update that date; a failed retry alone does not keep extending it. An interrupted transaction with no saved verified status is retained for 30 days after the deletion request and does not itself grant paid access. A subscription restored to a new identity is retained under that new association.
Provider records and support correspondence have separate retention arrangements:
- Infrastructure logs and recovery copies: Cloudflare publishes a 3-day retention period for native Workers Logs on its Free plan and 7 days on Paid. Its database recovery features retain historical states for up to 30 days, depending on the service and plan. These recovery copies can outlast deletion from the live database. These periods describe the native services, not every security record or separately retained copy. See Workers Logs, D1 recovery and Durable Objects recovery.
- Public-post classification logs: The updated collector requests no AI Gateway request logging and skips the gateway cache. This does not erase earlier logs or control all provider-side retention. Existing AI Gateway logs have a separate lifecycle from the announcement records above. Depending on the gateway's logging mode, logs follow the 3–7 day Workers Logs window or remain in legacy storage until deleted, including through configured removal of the oldest logs when storage is full. We do not promise that all classification logs disappear after 30 days. See Cloudflare's logging rules.
- Verification emails: Resend's published standard periods are 30 days for email and log data on Free, Pro and Scale plans, with a separate 7-day backup window. These are provider retention periods, not the validity of your verification code.
- Support correspondence: We use your messages and attachments to respond to your requests and keep them only while needed to resolve the matter, complete related follow-up, or meet a specific legal obligation. You can contact us to request deletion. Deleting your ResetPing identity does not automatically delete mailbox correspondence.
Information required for a specific legal obligation may be retained for the applicable period. We do not treat all account data as necessary financial records or promise immediate deletion of copies independently controlled by Apple, OpenAI or your device backups.
6. Your controls and deletion
You can change execution and notification preferences in the app. Turning off notifications does not stop automatic Ping; pause execution separately.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sign out on iPhone | Removes local interactive access and starts revocation of that installation's notifications. Your Mac can continue executing enabled tasks. Offline revocation may be delayed. |
| Sign out on Mac or disable that Mac | Stops normal execution and starts revocation and credential cleanup for its ResetPing-managed connections. |
| Remove a Codex connection | Stops new authorized work for it and schedules deletion of its ResetPing-specific credentials. It does not delete your OpenAI account or unrelated Codex login. |
| Delete your ResetPing identity | Disables ordinary access, removes your profile and personal history, revokes sessions and devices, and starts credential cleanup, subject to the limited retained records above. |
| Uninstall an app | Does not request server-side identity deletion or cancel Apple billing. |
| Cancel Apple renewal | Stops future renewal under Apple's process; it does not delete your identity or credentials. |
Use the app's identity-deletion control and complete the required email verification. If you cannot access the app, contact support@reset-ping.com.
An offline or inaccessible Mac cannot be confirmed clean until it completes cleanup. A pending status or saved deletion receipt is not proof that its credentials have been erased. If the device is lost or compromised, also use OpenAI's account-security controls. Requests and notifications already sent cannot be recalled. Deleting your ResetPing identity does not cancel an Apple subscription.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, a copy, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including processing of public-post information. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Email support@reset-ping.com with your request. We may proportionately verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal period. We will explain any permitted extension, limitation or refusal and any available appeal. You may complain to your competent privacy regulator, including your local EEA supervisory authority or the UK ICO. Where applicable, you may use an authorized agent. We do not discriminate against you for exercising protected rights.
For EEA and UK users, we rely on contract necessity to provide the identity, coordination and subscription features you request; legitimate interests to protect the service, maintain reliability and interpret relevant public announcements, subject to your rights; legal obligations where applicable; and consent for specific purposes where required. Contract acceptance does not replace separately required permission. Announcement classification does not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.
8. International processing and security
ResetPing is operated from the United States. The providers described in section 4 may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. Resend identifies the United States as its primary processing location. Zoho describes processing in the United States, the European Economic Area and other countries where it operates. Processing locations vary by service; we do not guarantee that coordination or support data stays in your country.
The standard data-processing terms published by Cloudflare and Resend include EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum for transfers covered by those provisions. These clauses impose data-protection obligations on the parties. Zoho's privacy policy describes contractual safeguards for transfers within its group and to its service providers. These arrangements apply within their respective scopes.
For information about the safeguards applicable to your data, or to request a copy where required, contact support@reset-ping.com. Using ResetPing is not blanket consent to international transfers.
We use encrypted connections, protected credential storage and access controls appropriate to the service. Our coordination service can read the information it needs to process; this is not end-to-end encryption of all service data. No security measure can guarantee complete protection. Please secure your devices, email and third-party accounts.
9. Age and policy changes
ResetPing is intended for people aged 13 or over who meet the eligibility requirements in our Terms of Service, including any higher local minimum age and required parental or guardian permission. We do not direct the service to children under 13 or knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe someone below the applicable minimum age has provided personal information, or that required parental or guardian permission is missing, contact support@reset-ping.com. We will investigate and take appropriate steps, including deleting information collected contrary to these requirements, subject to applicable law.
We will publish changes with an updated version and effective date, and provide appropriate notice of material changes. A new purpose requiring consent or permission will require that step separately. The English version prevails over the Chinese translation except where mandatory local law requires otherwise.
